NAVIGATING BUSINESS CHANGE IN 2021 | CULTURE AND CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE CARE
In 2020, following the Winterbourne View (2012) and Whorlton Hall (2019) scandals relating to the abuse of vulnerable adults, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) published a guide for CQC Inspectors titled, “Identifying and responding to closed cultures.”
As a growing area of interest to the Care Quality Commission, join for a free, 60-minute webinar on culture and key points about culturally appropriate care.
The webinar will discuss ‘closed culture’, defined as “a poor culture that can lead to harm, which can include human rights breaches such as abuse”. It will explain the risk factors that inspectors will look out for on inspection and highlight the warning signs that can lead to breaches of the fundamental standards.
Hosted by an ex-CQC inspector and Care Business Manager, Mick Feather, will be discussing:
- Key points surrounding culturally appropriate care and the CQC’s increased focus on culture, including during inspection
- Identifying and responding to closed cultures, including important culture definitions
- Practical hints, tips and guidance to support your service
- Building solid HR and Employment Law foundations, including recruitment, documentation, and employee engagement and wellbeing.
